Friends actor Matthew Perry has died at the age of 54, after being found unresponsive in the hot tub of his LA home.
The cause of death has been deferred by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, until an autopsy is concluded.
Perry who played the popular character, Chandler Bing on the hit sitcom, was found alone in his hot tub at 16h07 on Saturday, 28 October.
According to TMZ, no drugs were found on the scene, but a toxicology report is yet to be concluded.
Matthew who shot to international fame for his role in Friends at the age of 24, openly addressed his battle with drugs in his memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.
Friends, the hit TV series ran from 1994 to 2004, and starred Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow.
The cast reunited in 2021 to reminisce about their time filming and the bond they formed over the years while also talking about what made the show special.
None of Perry’s co-stars have reacted to news of his passing yet, although tribute messages have poured in from others in Hollywood.
Matthew Perry is remembered by his family as someone who radiated a blinding intelligence to every moment of his life, not just work.
