“I am hoping for your prayers” – “Mr Ibu” John Okafor has been hospitalised.
Mr. John Okafor, also known as Mr. Ibu, has been bedridden for weeks due to an illness that could cause him to lose one of his legs.
In 1998, John Okafor started his career in the film industry. Among the films in which he appeared were Mr. Ibu, Mr. Ibu in London, Police Recruit, Ibu in Prison, and Keziah.
The actor, whose health has been declining and has been absent from the screen for a number of years, is pleading with well-meaning Nigerians to assist him in his fight to prevent the amputation of one of his legs.
The comedic actor said in a widely circulated Instagram video yesterday that he had been admitted after suffering from an illness for weeks.

Speaking from his hospital bed about his health, the actor revealed that his physicians had warned him that if all other measures failed, they might have to amputate his limb.
“I am hoping for your prayers and assistance. As I am speaking to you, I am still lying down in the hospital. The medical doctor of this hospital said the best solution is, in case his idea did not work, the best idea is to cut off my leg. See me. If they cut off my leg where will I go to? Please, be in the prayers for me. I do not want my leg to be cut off. Thank you so much. God bless you”, he appealed.
