South Africans all over the world are celebrating the Boks’ nailbiting 29-28 Quarter Finals victory over France on Sunday, 15 October.
The Boks will now face England in the Semi Finals on Saturday, 21 October, while New Zealand take on Argentina on Friday, 20 October.
Springboks Captain, Siya Kolisi who promised South Africans that the boys would give it their all against the host country, thanked France for a tough game.
“It was a hard game, we knew how tough it was going to be with the French team at home.
Honestly, it was tough, and I just want to say well done to them, for what they’ve achieved and how hard they’ve worked.
Also, to the supporters, the people of France, thank you. They’ve just been amazing, and you can be proud of your team.”
Siya Kolisi’s post-match interview
Kolisi, who is being hailed as one of the best leaders in world rugby credited the Boks’ victory against France to every team member wanting the win, and to the undying support by South Africans.
“To our people back home, thank you for the support which we feel. They cannot afford to be here, but we feel the love they have for the Boks. From the videos we’ve seen, schools singing, we appreciate you all.
Our families who are here, our supporters back home, that’s who we’re playing for.
We play for our Nation, it’s not about us.”
Kolisi led the Boks to victory at the Rugby World Cup final in Japan, and the country waits with bated breath to see if he can do it again this year.
