The City of Johannesburg battled yet another building fire on Saturday, 23 September, this time in Hillbrow where two rooms in a block of flats caught fire.
No injuries were reported, and firefighters were alerted to the blaze at around 16h00, on the corner of Van Der Merwe and Klein streets, Hillbrow.
The latest JHB CBD fire comes just days after EMS contained another fire at a hijacked building in Marshalltown.
This follows the devastating fire which claimed the lives of 77 people, also in Marshalltown, on 31 August.
Earlier this week, a fire was reported at the SARS building on Rissik Street.
Officials say the cause of the Hillbrow apartment fire is unknown at this stage and an investigation will be underway.
