“More than 50 productions later” – Fana Moekena is celebrating 30 years in the entertainment industry.
South African actor Fana Mokoena recently celebrated a massive three-decade-long milestone of being in the entertainment industry.
The 52-year-old from Kroonstaad in the Free State has also been a member of parliament for 8 years as a representative of Economic Freedom Fighters.
He also made appearances on massive productions like World War Z, Hotel Rwanda, Dangerous Grounds- Jump The Gun, Inside, and The Spear.
On television he played a variety of roles on popular shows such as Generations, Yizo Yizo, Going Up II & III, Crossing The Line, Egoli, Gothia Caper, Flat 27, Khululeka II, The Line, as well as 52 Regent Street.

Mokoena took to social media to share his incredible journey on X (formely called Twitter), giving details of the mountains he has climbed.
I graduated in 1991 and joined the Playhouse Company. Playwright and Director Lara Foot introduced me to my agent Moonyeen Lee (Soul Rest in Peace) whom I’ve been with ever since. I have worked with the biggest giants in this industry, and hopefully changed lives in small ways

Even if I have to say so myself, I’m truly proud of my life. It’s been a humbling journey, not one of fame and fortune, but satisfying. I can truly say, I have run a beautiful race. I pray that I have another 3 decades ahead of me, because there’s much more where that came from.

Mokoena also thanked everyone who has been instrumental in propelling his success over the years. He expressed gratitude to his colleagues, friends, family, and the Economic Freedom Fighters.
