A frustrated listener, who’s on the verge of losing his house, has reached out to The Best T in the City with Tbose for some advice. This listener, who happens to be a husband, has suggested to his wife that they should move into his parents’ vacant house and rent out their own home for some extra income. However, the wife is against the idea of moving into the parents’ house. This has left the husband feeling frustrated, especially since they have been struggling to make their payments and might lose their home very soon.
“My wife and I are on the verge of losing our house. We are in arrears, and I fear we will be kicked out soon. I suggested to my wife that we move to my parents’ house, rent out our house, and use that money to pay the bill. There is no one that lives at my parents’ house, so it will be just us. My wife, however, does not want to hear it, and this is frustrating me. I even made it clear that this doesn’t have to be a long-term thing. Maybe at most 6 months to a year until we are back on our feet.
“I really don’t know what more to say. At this point, I am thinking of leaving her at our house to get back to my parents house alone because I have tried sitting her down. What can I do?”

One listener points out that it would be better for the couple to work together to find a solution, adding, “They are married in Community of Property, and they will both lose the house. When they are selling the house, they will still need both signatures. Hopefully, the wife will wake up and realize that this is to save their home.”
Another listener doesn’t see anything wrong with moving back home if it’ll help them in the long run. “It is not like the family lives there at her husband’s home. It is just a change of scenery and at least they will be saving their home. If she doesn’t want to move then she must also come up with solutions,” the listener said.
