7 de Laan stops production due to insufficient funds.
Fans of the well-liked SABC2 Afrikaans soap opera “7de Laan” received yet another curveball when Danie Odendaal Productions revealed that the show’s production had been suspended due to a lack of funding.
According to reports, the cast claims they received the most recent contact from Danie Odendaal Productions “via Whatsapp” on September 3rd, which only serves to stoke the flames.
A brief statement about the halting of production indicated that the production had been struggling to maintain daily production requirements.
“The Broadcaster (SABC) has been struggling to make the necessary payments timely to the production making it difficult to maintain the daily production requirements,”
“You are not required to be at the production studios until further notice. Management will communicate as soon as possible [on] when you can resume with your normal duties,” the statement read.
