A fire engulfed a building in Johannesburg, at the intersection of Alberts and Delver streets earlier today.
Emergency Management Service Firefighters responded to a five-story building that was on fire this morning at 1:30 AM.
The initial number of confirmed deaths as firefighters tackled the blaze was 4 with one of the deceased being a 1 year old child.

As Firefighters evacuated the building,10 people were confirmed dead on the scene and 42 injured people were assisted before being transported to various healthcare facilities for further medical care.
The death toll has since risen to 58, with 43 injured, according to Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS).
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
