“Our last month in SA” – Rachel Kolisi speaks about her upcoming move with Siya to Paris.
One month remains till the relocation of Springbok captain Siya Kolisi and his family to Paris, France.
In January Siya Kolisi announced that he would be leaving South Africa and joining Racing 92 in Paris, after the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France later this year.
In a heartfelt emotional announcement Siya wrote:
“Rachel and the kids have sacrificed so much throughout my career, and I am immeasurably grateful for this. The move to Racing 92 will enable me to spend more time with my family, which is something that I have longed for, and this prospect certainly played a significant part in my decision-making.”
His wife Rachel revealed on Instagram that she was “devastated” about moving because she loves South Africa.
Her post was followed with messages of support from South Africans from all corners of the country, with one supported saying “Oh gosh I know that feeling 💔💔💔 package it as an adventure, a time in your life to embrace and experience something new.”

Rachel expressed her excitement of the journey that lies ahead.
“Officially our last month in SA before our move to Paris, France. 😭
I’m so grateful for the opportunity and experience, but in the same breath devastated because I love SA with my whole heart. And I love living here.
Juggling A LOT at the moment, and the furthest thing from being ready for a move overseas. Also just found out we’re running into more joy in the visa department 🫠
i had a great conversation with someone this week and she told me this: “identify which balls can drop and bounce back up and which ones would break if they dropped and focus on those.”
