American comedienne Sarah Silverman, along with two novelists, have sued Meta and Open AI for allegedly using their copyrighted books without consent to train their AI-trained software programs.
The Los Angeles Times reports that the lawsuit was filed in the San Francisco federal court by authors Richard Kadrey and Christopher Golden, along with Sarah Silverman. Each suit demands around R20 billion in damages, according to court papers seen by the publication.

The work in question is Sarah Silverman’s The Bedwetter. In her memoir, Silverman shares personal events from her life, reflecting on her childhood, adolescence, and career.
