An American TikTok user who goes by the name of George Washington III sparked the conversation on Kaya Drive over distinct South African experiences that every tourist simply must try.
Washington posted a TikTok sharing that just two Savannah Ciders had him questioning his life choices.
The social media user who featured on My Top 10 at 10 on The Best T in the City recently, said he was definitely not made for this truly South African beverage.
To Washington’s point, Thomas and Skhumba agreed that there just some things that only a South African can handle.
Like clapping your hands at a leopard you’ve spotted to shoo it away, to taking on taxi drivers who are relentless at breaking the rules of the road, there are significant experiences that only happen in SA.
Skhumba says every tourist has to experience one of Johannesburg’s oldest markets, Kwa Mai Mai.
The comedian and Kaya 959 presenter says there’s something about the down-to-earth spot that makes it such a vibe.
“Go to Kwa Mai Mai, for the best traditional South African street food, chill spot and vibe. This place will give you a true sense of what South Africa is about.”
Skhumba says Kwa Mai Mai is a must when visiting South Africa, Johannesburg in particular
