Kabelo Petrus Motha, more popularly known as Kabza de Small remembers the days he used to cut grass for a living.
In a viral video clip that has resurfaced, the highly acclaimed DJ and record producer shared that he used to work for the municipality, starting off cutting grass, and moving to being a plumber.
These were the artist’s tough days before he made a name for himself in the South African music industry.
The multi-SAMA award winning artist said his hustle as a young 17-year old, entailed taking whatever odd jobs he could find to put food on the table.
While starting from the bottom eventually paid off for The Scorpion King, he remembers where he came from and how hard he had to work to get to where he is today.
“I used to cut grass for a living. That’s right, I used to work for the municipality, honestly.
Seriously, I used to wear overalls, it was tough. I used to do plumbing, fix sewerage drains, whatever it took, when I was around 17 or 18.”
