Gauteng police are on the hunt for a gunman who wounded 15 in a tavern shooting in Soshanguve on Sunday, 11 June.
Police have in the interim asked the public to stop circulating the graphic video footage from the shooting incident which was leaked to social media.
The latest tavern shooting incident occurred at a tavern in Jukulyn, Soshanguve at approximately 22h30.

According to Gauteng SAPS, a team comprising of detectives from the local police station, Rietgat, and detectives from Tshwane District led by a seasoned Investigator from the Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes (Murder and Robbery Unit) are investigating a case of attempted murder after the shooting incident wounded 15.
The team also comprises members from Crime Intelligence, Forensic Crime Scene Management and other units within SAPS, have worked around the clock to identify the lone gunman and the vehicle that was used as a getaway.
Tracing and tracking of the suspect and the driver of the getaway vehicle are underway.
Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela has condemned the tavern shooting.
“It is disheartening to see people that are enjoying themselves being targeted and attacked in this manner. The dedicated team of experts appointed has been instructed to leave no stone unturned in order to ensure justice for the victims.”

Mawela says the Visible Policing Directorate at the Provincial office is, through Partnership Policing and Social Crime Prevention, engaging liquor outlet owners to discuss and find amicable solutions among other matters for safety and security of patron as well as gender-based violence perpetrated at these establishments at times.
