After the passing of his uncle, Anonymous has been sending money back home at the end of each month to help his aunt. After visiting her recently, he found out that she’s been mismanaging the funds. In as much as he loves her, this hasn’t sat well with him.
“I myself, don’t have kids. I am not married and I work two jobs. I was raised by my aunt and my uncle as an only child. I’ve been part of their family since the passing of my parents. I got a promotion at work and have been using the additional income that I got to send more money back home because my aunt has told me that there are some urgent repairs she needs to do, school fees demands, and her health needs more money.
“This past weekend I went home for the first time this year only to find none of the things she claims to have fixed and spent the money on. They don’t exist. Instead, she is spending the money I have sent her to pay her debts and the kids are no longer in school. The house is a mess.”

Here are some tips for Anonymous from The Best T in the City’s listeners:
- Hire a person to fix the house and pay the service provider directly.
- For the kids, open a bank account for them that they can access.
- Anonymous must sit his aunt down and let her know about his concerns.
- Pay the school fees directly to the school and send vouchers for groceries instead of money.
