She might be embroiled in a very public fight with her estranged label Open Mic Productions, but Makhadzi is still securing her bag.
The 26-year old Limpopo-born singer is building her investment portfolio and now reportedly owns a luxury Bed & Breakfast in Fourways.
But at R 4 000 a night, many are wondering whether the 3 bedroom B&B comes with an appearance by Makhadzi herself.
With plush fittings and a modern, sleek design, the all-white design does give Makhadzi’s new Bed & Breakfast a luxurious feel.
However, in the current economic climate that South Africans find themselves in, some feel the rate per night is a little out of their price range.
Granted a Bed & Breakfast in Fourways area doesn’t come cheap but with the rising cost of food and petrol, many are questioning whether the R4 000 a night is a bit much.
Others feel they are simply not the target market and that there are people, especially tourists who wouldn’t mind forking out that much on accommodation during their holidays.
Meanwhile, the singer has accused Open Mic Records of ambushing her into an “auto-renewal” contract for the next 3-years, despite her expressing her decision to part ways with the label.
Apart from claiming that she has not received a cent from Open Mic for the 4 albums she released over the past 3-years, the Mjolo hitmaker says the label is also pulling down her latest music from YouTube.
Makhadzi also says Open Mic hasn’t given her a copy of her contract clause, although she’d requested it a number of times.
