Disbarred Advocate Malesela Teffo has once again delayed the Senzo Meyiwa trial by asking to see Judge Tshifhiwa Maumela in his chambers.
Teffo claimed he had sensitive information to share with the judge, which could not be disclosed in court because proceedings were televised and streamed live.
Dressed in his legal robe, Teffo insulted State Prosecutor, Advocate George Baloyi, telling him to, “stop his monkey tricks.”
“My request is that, we should first see the judge in chambers because the reason we are here, myself and my instruction team, is that there things that first need to be discussed with the judge.
It’s a protocol, and that as a court officer I’m showing the highest respect to this honorable court.
There are matters that cannot be discussed during court proceedings whereas this case is being televised. So, I have agreed with my colleagues before Advocate Baloyi came here that my request to see the judge be allowed.”

In August 2022, Advocate Teffo failed in his bid to dismiss or postpone the application by the Legal Practice Council (LPC) to have him barred from practicing law.
The controversial advocate who accused the President of having a hand in the cover-up of Meyiwa’s murder, was representing 4 of the 5 men accused of the footballer’s death.
Teffo was facing 22 complaints of malpractice, and as a result was struck off the roll which means he is no longer able to practice law.
The charges against Teffo include, fraud, assault, misappropriation of funds and intimidation.
Teffo’s misconduct dates back to 2021, when he was charged for assaulting a female police officer in Parktown.
The trial resumed after Advocate Teffo’s delay with one of Senzo Meyiwa’s friends, Mthokozisi Thwala, taking to the stand to testify.
Thwala who was inside the house that Meyiwa was gunned down, detailed how he became friends with the late Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates footballer.
Senzo Meyiwa was killed in 2014 at his then girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo’s family home in Vosloorus.
