Carte Blanche presenter Derek Watts is back home and learning to walk again after sepsis destroyed his body.
The talk TV personality shared that he collapsed with a suspected stroke 2-weeks ago and was rushed to hospital, only to discover that sepsis had wrecked his body.
Watts collapsed in Hoedspruit 14-days ago and shared a picture showing how the sepsis had left his body bruised all over.
It’s now 4-days since his social media post and Derek Watts is at home walking short distances without support.
The seasoned television personality told fans of the cutting-edge television show that he will be back on screen soon.
“Now walking unsupported for short distances, learning to walk again. Back on your Carte Blanche screen soon.”
Watts is for now, following the advice of his medical team and giving his body time to recover.
Sepsis is the body’s extreme response to an infection. It’s a life-threatening medical anomaly and occurs when an infection you already have triggers a chain reaction throughout the body.
Infections that lead to sepsis most often start in the lung, urinary tract, skin, or gastrointestinal tract.
