The spine-chilling confessions of rapist Thabo Bester gives South Africans a glimpse into the cold-hearted mentality of the man dubbed the “Facebook rapist.”
Bester, who was interviewed days before he formally admitted to sexually assaulting two women in 2011, confessed to raping two aspiring models, but denied murdering his third victim.
In one part of a video interview which News24 has access to, Bester shares with police profiler, Dr Gerard Labuschagne, that he had no intention of raping the girls.
“These incidents happened. Yes, they happened three times differently. But, I feel also that, I’m not somebody who, if you leave a woman alone with me in a room, that I’m gonna rape her.
Okay, the murder was different. It was just a, we fight over a knife and somebody got stabbed in the process. If I wanted to stab her, I could have killed her in Durban, I could have killed her the first night we got to Cape Town. So it was not my intentions at all.”

Bester lured his victims on Facebook by posing as a model scout.
In a separate case he was convicted of robbing and killing a third woman. Bester claimed he was involved in a long distance relationship with the third woman.
He killed and robbed her when she visited him and left her body in a Cape Town guesthouse.
While Thabo Bester admitted to the rapes, he shared that he couldn’t confess to the murder because it was not his intention to kill her.
The escaped convict, who faked his own death, claims he liked the girls he raped, especially the one he murdered.
Bester also shared how he dreams that he will one day be free, despite the fact that he feels guilty.

Meanwhile, the woman that is said to married to Bester in customary law, Dr Nandipha Magudumana, is also on the run.
The doctor was a no-show this Wednesday, 29 March, despite advertising that she will be seeing to patients this week at her Sandton practice.
Dr Nandipha is, according to the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) no longer a registered doctor due to her medical license being suspended.
The HPSCA shows that Dr Nandipha’s license expired in March 2021.
