The sudden passing of actress Noxolo ‘Noxy’ Maqashalala has left her fans in shock.
Noxolo was found dead in her Honeydew home in Johannesburg on Friday.
It is believed she had been dead for a week. She was 44 years old.
“I received a call from her brother informing me of her death. Someone went to drop off something at her place and realised there was something strange,” DispatchLIVE quoted family friend, Senyukele Zibobo, as saying.
No official cause of death has been released but police do not suspect foul play at this time.
Noxolo has starred in local shows such as ‘Rhythm City’, ‘Diamond City’ and ‘Generations’.
Tributes pour in for Noxolo Maqashalala
Noxolo’s fans have described her as a “brilliant” actress who will be sorely missed.
“Such a talented actress who graced our screens for years. May her soul rest in peace,” one Twitter user wrote.
Another fan wrote: “Thank you too Noxolo Maqashalala for your contribution to the arts go and rest easy. Death be not proud.”
RIP Noxolo and Menzi
South Africans learned about Noxolo’s death on the same day actor Menzi Ngubane’s family revealed he had passed away.
The former ‘Generations’ star suffered a stroke on Saturday.
