Kidnapped Gqeberha biokineticist, Riana Pretorius has been returned to her family safe and unharmed.
More than a week after the 26-year old was reportedly kidnapped outside her medical practice, Eastern Cape Hawks confirm the safety of Pretorius.
The young medical professional was dropped off at a petrol station in Struandale, on Friday, 24 March at approximately 02h00.
This after a R2 million ransom demand was allegedly made after Pretorius was snatched.
According to the Hawks, two men have since been arrested in connection with the kidnapping.
Apart from a few bruises and being visibly shaken after her experience, Hawks Eastern Cape spokesperson, Yolisa Mgolodela said Riana Pretorius is lucky to be alive.
Pretorius was kidnapped on Thursday, 16 March, and one of the suspects was arrested soon after she was kidnapped.
The suspects are expected to appear in court on charges of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Hawks expect further arrests to be made.
In September last year, a Cape Town woman was kidnapped in broad daylight.
Anichka Penev, a Ukranian national was driving her yellow Audi R8 in Ipswich, Blackheath, Cape Town when she was boxed in by two vehicles.
