Clive Barker, 78, has been re-admitted to hospital.
The legendary Bafana Bafana coach underwent surgery in 2022 after being diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia.
Lewy body dementia, also known as dementia with Lewy bodies, is the second most common type of progressive dementia after Alzheimer’s disease.
Lewy body dementia causes a progressive decline in mental abilities.
Barker was re-admitted to hospital on Thursday. It is believed that his 2022 surgery has caused him complications.
According to a statement shared by his family, the 78-year-old is in good hands.
“His condition is stable, but he remains in the Intensive Care Unit and is being closely monitored.
“The family is grateful for the incredible care he is receiving from the medical team and would once again like to thank friends, colleagues and fans for their continued. love, prayers, and support.”
Clive Barker is the only coach to guide Bafana Bafana to their only African Cup of Nations which was in 1996.
