A few hours before his tragic passing on the 10th of February 2023, AKA announced the release of his third studio album Mass Country.
At his memorial, the late rapper’s family and team confirmed they would go ahead with his wishes to release Mass Country.
As the Megacy eagerly awaits the release of what could be Supamega’s best work to date, many have been curious about the meaning behind the album title.
In an interview the rapper did a month ago with Slikour, he broke down the meaning behind the album title.
“I’m taking more time with the sound and just trying to come up with something new. I call it Mass Country because I wanted to touch on Mass Country like Maskandi. That’s kind of like the play on it,” he told Slikour On Life.
“It’s also to a nod on like there is also going to be traditional sounds on there. But also laced with pop and a bit of Kwaito influence. Hip Hop, you know how it goes. I’m going to put that all in the pot. And we are going to come up with something magic.”
Mass Country drops this Friday, 24 February 2023 across all digital platforms.
