Pearl Thusi recently invited her friend Moozlie for cocktails at her home.
The two conversated about their respective journeys in the entertainment industry, sisterhood, relationships, and much more.
Pearl rose to fame around the It-girl era with the likes of Minnie Dlamini, Bonang Matheba, and Nandi Madida. She told Moozlie that she wasn’t a fan of that period in the entertainment industry and commended her guest for not falling prey to it.
“I hate that IT Girl era. You were so cool to me and you were not subscribed to that thing.”
The Queen Sono actress felt forced into it.
“I feel like myself, Minnie, Bonang, Zinhle – a lot of people were forced into this thing and we just wanted to be famous and be recognized for what we do.”
She says it hid a lot of parts of her that she “wanted to show and, management was like I can’t because we were going to lose a lot of clients. And now it is completely switched to be yourself. I feel super played.”
