An ANC member is accused of killing his wife in front of their 18-month-old child.
Sibusiso Kula, an ANC member of parliament, was detained in Klerksdorp on Friday, January 20, and charged with the suspected murder of his wife, Jennifer Motlhomi, age 31.
Point of View with Phemelo Motene spoke to Minister Nkoana-Mashabane, Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities who attended the court hearing of ANC Member of Parliament Sibusiso Kula to oppose bail in order for perpetrators in positions of power to know that their abusive behaviour will be met with the harshest opposition.

The children, who range in age from eight to 18 months, will be left in the custody of family members since their mother is running late and their father could be sentenced to jail.
Minister Nkoana-Mashabane, Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities stated that it is sad and called for the strongest punishments to have parliamentarians who do not respect the rights and lives of women in a nation where GBVF has been proclaimed a second pandemic.
