KwaZulu-Natal government dismisses claims that R50m was spent on Mandla ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo‘s Funeral.
The KwaZulu-Natal government has dismissed media reports suggesting that it contributed R50 million to the funeral expenses of the late Big Nuz musician Mampintsha.
“The falsehood being peddled about R50 million is nothing more than a figment of imagination by those who are morally and spiritually bankrupt,”
“We further wish to appeal to the public to be circumspect and not abuse the power of social media by spreading false information,”

They also gave an indication of what was donated by the KwaZulu-Natal government.
The Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture provided R50,000, the eThekwini Metro R100,000, and the Premier’s Office provided R170,000.
