The Woman King actor, Siv Ngesi has been labelled a misogynist after insulting Duduzile Zuma on Twitter.
Ngesi unapologetically responded to a tweet by former President, Jacob Zuma’s daughter about the results from the ANC’s 55th National Elective Conference by using a distasteful phrase to refer to her.
Duduzile who has been vocal about her views that President Cyril Ramaphosa should not see out a second term in office, tweeted, “Ya’ll are waiting for me to tweet…” which was followed by a number of laughing emojis.
This prompted Ngesi to respond rather heatedly, using a rather vulgar Nguni word to address Duduzile instead of her name.
“Hey ms*nu Duduzile Zuma, what now?”
The word ms*nu refers to male or female genitalia, and is a word that landed DJ Fresh in hot water whilst at Metro FM.
Fresh used the word on-air and was later fired after complaints were lodged against him for making use of the word live on radio.
Twitter users were not having it and called Ngesi out immediately for being a misogynist and using such vulgar language to address a woman.
“Regardless of which woman Siv Ngesi was referring to, regardless of me disliking the Zuma family, this isn’t it.”
“I’ll defend even Dudu from being spoken to like this. It’s not ok, regardless what you feel and how right you may be. It’s ugly.”
Ngesi has not apologised for insulting Duduzile Zuma, nor has she spoken out about how Ngesi addressed her in his tweet.
