When you love or really care about your romantic partner, breaking up with them is often very difficult, despite your unhappiness.
No relationship is perfect, that said relationships require a lot of hard work, effort, and compassion.
Sadly, we often make the mistake of expecting our relationships to solely thrive on love alone, which in hindsight is extremely unrealistic.
Despite this revelation, many people often stay in unhealthy relationships not because they want to but because they either have to or because they’re just too comfortable.
On Feel Good with Andy Maqondwana, Andy asks listeners about the reasons why they’re still in those relationships.
Here are 10 of the most common reasons why people stay in relationships:
- Financial benefits
- Emotional security
- Physical intimacy
- Social status
- Reluctant to change
- Social pressure from society or family members
- Co-dependence
- Personality
- Manipulation/and Abuse
- Fear of the unknown and uncertainty
