The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is investigating the circumstances surrounding a 25-year old North Carolina woman’s death whilst on holiday in Mexico.
Shanquella Robinson and 6 of her girlfriends made the trip to Cabo, Mexico at the end of October. Less than 24-hours after arriving in Mexico, Robinson was found dead, and her friends claimed that she died from alcohol poisoning.
However, after leaked videos from Robinson’s phone went viral, her family now want justice for her death.
Robinson’s mother grew suspicious due to different versions of what had happened being relayed by her friends.
In the video, Robinson walks around the hotel looking for her friends, who are all in a room without her.
After details about her injuries were brought to light, the video seems to prove that Robinson’s friends were plotting her death, moments before they beat her and recorded it.
Leaked footage shows one of her friends beating Robinson who is naked, while a man films. The man can be heard taunting Robinson saying, “Yo, can you at least fight back?”

Shanquella Robinson falls down in front of the bed whilst her attacker knees her in the face and the video ends.
Robinson was found naked, with her neck broken and her spine severed.
Mexican authorities have ruled Shanquella Robinson’s death femicide, which is the intentional killing of a female, however, if the investigation concludes that it was not gender-related, the charges will change to homicide.
As the investigation is still underway, none of Robinson’s friends have yet been charged with her murder.
Robinson’s family were heartbroken when her body returned home after a few weeks. She was laid to rest over the weekend at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.
