Dumza Maswana is just one of the talents that you can enjoy at the Joy of Jazz on the 25th of November at the Sandton Convention Centre.
Maswana’s musical biography includes performances on both local and international stages.
Locally he shared the stage with Thandiswa Mazwai, Simphiwe Dana, Ringo Madlingozi, Tshepo Tshola, Sphokazi, the Jaziel Brothers, Mafikizolo, and the legendary Victor Ntoni.
His international stage moments include opening performances for Kenny Lattimore and Chanté Moore.
Regardless of the circles, he moves in, the Eastern Cape born Jazz musician remains true to his roots.
“I tell Eastern Cape stories first, especially from the villages. I think their stories, way of living, their music, language, and beliefs are often overlooked – our stories deserve to be heard.”
Maswana’s talents are not restricted to the stage. The award-winning Jazz musician is also a Jazz music presenter at a popular radio station in the Eastern Cape. He uses the platform to profile South African Jazz musicians and their music.
