25-year-old Shanquella Robinson died while vacationing with her friends in Cabo, Mexico.
Shanquella was allegedly on vacation celebrating a birthday with friends.
However within 24 hours of arriving in Cabo, Shanquella’s mother received a call that would forever change her life.
Shanquella’s friends called her and told her that her daughter had died while on vacation from alcohol poisoning.
“They said she wasn’t feeling well. She had alcohol poisoning. They couldn’t get a pulse […] each one of the people that were there with her was telling different stories”, Shanquella’s mom, Salamondra Robinson, told WBTW.
Shanquella’s mother also noted that the autopsy repot from the FBI and Mexican authorities conflicts that accounts made by her friends.
The autopsy report revealed that Shanquella died from physical injury. Both her neck and spine were broken.
“When the autopsy came back, they said it didn’t have anything to do with the alcohol,” Robinson’s mother said. “[They] said that she had a broken neck and her spine in the back was cracked. She had been beaten”, Shanquella’s mother said.
Shanquella’s friends eventually returned to the United States but abandoned the 25-year-old’s body in Mexico.
The family paid $6,000 which estimates to about R104 100 and waited about two weeks to receive her body.
A video is circulating on social media, and allegedly shows an altercation between Shanquella and her friends.
This video also backs the authorities’ autopsy report.
