International superstar Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has made history as the most nominated artist in Grammy history with a total of 88 Grammy nominations throughout her career.
Beyoncé’s husband and rapper Jay-Z shares this spot with her, also receiving 88 nominations throughout his career as a Hip-Hop icon.
This year Beyoncé leads the pack with nine Grammy nominations for Be Alive from the film King Richard as well as for her 7th studio album Renaissance.
The Renaissance artist has been nominated for Record of the year, Song of the year, Album of the year, Best Dance/ Electronic Recording, Best Dance/Electronic Album, Best R&B performance, Best Traditional R&B performance, and Best Song written for Visual Media.
Beyoncé is closely followed by Kendrick Lamar who has received eight nominations.
The Break My Soul artist also goes head to head with Adele for Album of the year and Record of the year.
Other stars nominated include the likes of Lizzo, Doja Cat, and Taylor Swift. Mzansi’s Zakes Bantwini, Nomcebo Zikode, and Wouter Kellerman have also been nominated for the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.
