Everyone needs an unexpected day off at one point or another.
Sometimes getting that day off from work can often be a tricky process, especially when you’re employer fails to be understanding.
Because of this, you may not feel entirely comfortable when sharing the truth about why you need or want a day off.
On Feel Good with Andy Maqondwana, Andy asks listeners about the excuses they have made to either leave work early or miss work.
Here are some common excuses many people have made to miss out on work:
- “My doctor’s office called and rescheduled my appointment for this afternoon. Unfortunately, I’ll have to leave work early today.”
- “I’ve been up all night with food poisoning, I will unfortunately not be able to come into work today.”
- “My anxiety has been through the roof this week. I’m taking a personal day today to take care of myself.”
- “I was in a car accident.”
- “I’m attending a veterinarian appointment which could take the entire day.”
- “I was in close contact with someone who has an active Covid infection last night. I will be staying home to quarantine today.”
- “My car has a flat tyre”
- “My relative is not doing too well”
- “My Internet service is experiencing an outage which is preventing me from working from home.”
- “I’m currently experiencing water shedding/ load shedding.”
