A tanker truck was intercepted with 87 people, allegedly Malawian migrants.
87 individuals aboard a tanker believed to be from Malawi and travelling to South Africa were stopped by police in Mozambique.
According to reports, the group was travelling in a tanker owned by a well-known baseperson in Malawi.
People can be seen exiting the tanker after it was stopped by police in a social media video that has gone viral.

According to the person narrating in the video, the people found in the tanker are Malawians.
The persons discovered in the tanker are Malawians, according to the video’s narrator.
“I was behind the truck driver and when the officer stopped me, he explained that the other driver escaped because he was trafficking people.
“The officer called his fellow officers and they helped the suspected Malawians to get out of the tanker,” said Narrator
According to Malawi 24, The tragedy occurred a few days after mass graves containing the remains of 29 migrants were discovered in a Mzimba forest.
On their trip to South Africa, the migrants, who were allegedly Ethiopians, are thought to have perished in a van while being assisted to cross the border between Malawi and Mozambique.
