Former Springbok player, Tendai “The Beast” Mtawarira has launched his new passion project and bespoke wine collection.
The 37-year old retired national rugby star has taken his trademark nickname, “The Beast” and created a signature line of wine.
Tendai, who is the third-most capped Springbok player, retired after the Boks’ were crowned champions in 2019.
Since retiring, the self-confessed “secret wine lover” has ventured into the wine industry, and says his brand is built on a philosophy of excellence, resilience and passion.
“I have been eagerly awaiting the moment when I could share details of this exciting launch of The Beast Wine Collection, which is very close to my heart. Our mission is to offer a high quality, locally produced wine to an extensive consumer market. The production of this collection has represented a true labour of love over the last year.
I am confident that everyone will enjoy the product as much as I have enjoyed the journey of producing this collection of fine wines.”

The Beast Wine Collection includes a MCC Brut, Syrag/Cabernet Sauvignon, Rosé and a Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon which each has a special meaning to Tendai “The Beast” Mtawarira.
