Being an eternal student of life means there’s always something to learn in order to improve ourselves and continue to work on.
Feel Good with Andy Maqondwana suggests cultivating new habits to work on, which can help make life better.
In order for something to become part of your everyday life, and be habitual, it will need to be cultivated for at least 21-days.
Here are 7 habit to work on that can change your life in a positive way:
Give Back
The rewarding feeling of giving back and contributing to society is unparalleled. It’s also a perfect way to get to know your neighbourhood and community. Making this a habit throughout your life will give you a fulfilling experience that feeds your soul.
Plan Your Day
Owning each day will get you closer to your desires and goals. Planning is the secret to successful management of your time. It’s hard to feel coordinated and at the top if you’re unprepared.
Having a simple plan for your day lets you make the most of your time and actually achieve the most important things in your life.
Make Lists
The organisation is one of the most critical reasons for maintaining a to-do list. Organizing your activities with a list will make it a lot more manageable and make you feel grounded.
Challenge yourself to look at it in the morning, and before you go to bed every day. You’ll be shocked at what the results will be after a year.
Save
Perhaps the most critical habit of financial freedom; we can’t predict the future. Saving money will help you become financially stable and have a safety net in the event of an emergency.
Leave it better than you found it
Everything you touch, whether it’s work, a relationship, a place you’ve been entrusted with should be left better than you found it. Try this habit and you’ll see how you’ll feel about your contribution to humanity.
Feed your mind, body and soul
You’ve probably heard this before but ask yourself what you are truly doing.
Have you read enough this year?
Is your body happy with what you put in it?
Have you committed consistently to exercising?
Do you have a spiritual practice where you connect to a higher power?
Be a better person – Offer Compliments, Stop Gossiping, Help a stranger
Lastly, there is a saying that “People forget a lot of things but, they’ll never forget how you made them feel”.
The final habit to take with you in the new year is the habit of being a better person to others, to be more generous with your compliments, have good thoughts about others and helping strangers.
