First National Bank (FNB), a bank in South Africa, recently released a brand revamp and an “overhaul” of its app, and customers have been reacting to the new design.
A redesign has been made to the renowned acacia tree that South Africans have been associating FNB with for the past 35 years.

FNB announced during its launch ceremony on Friday morning that it will be changing its emphasis to become more “advice-led,” departing from its prior “product-led” mindset.
FNB has deep ties to the nation’s oldest bank because of its beginnings in the Eastern Province Bank of 1838.
But it wasn’t until the UK’s Barclays Bank divested in 1987 that it changed its name to First National Bank and got its first acacia tree emblem.

Despite having a long history, FNB has only undergone a handful of significant logo updates, with the years 2000 and 2005 seeing the most important modifications.
Change has arrived. Reminder that we will NOT be asking you to download a new App. The iOS updates have commenced and will be available soonest. Android users should be able to update on the Play Store. Please do not click on any unknown links. #LoveFNB pic.twitter.com/5RJ37rCf6b
