Popular South African music producer DJ Black Coffee recently joined British podcast Diary of a CEO for an exclusive sit-down.
During his conversation with Steven Bartlett, Black Coffee opened up about buying his neighbour’s house so he could party with his friends in peace.
Because he lives with his mother and his children, he couldn’t really invite his friends over for parties.
Buying his neighbour’s house seemed like a viable option.
“I can’t even have a little party because my mom is in the other room. And then it bothered me so much, I remember I had a conversation with my friend, I was like man I love but at the same time, I just feel like this can’t be it.
“The most incredible thing happened, I get a phone call and this guy is like ‘by the way, I am selling my house and I am going away and moving to another country. Just letting you know as a neighbour”
The plans he has for the house he bought go beyond partying and hosting friends.
“I want to build a Black Coffee house that would be like a future house. But in the future, this would be like where he used to live. I am very much intentional about the things that I collect, the art on the wall, like everything that I do, I am doing to create value in the house”
