The Jaggersfontein community is suing the mine that caused the recent mudslides in the area.
Over 300 people were rendered homeless and at least one person was murdered when a mine dam wall collapsed on Sunday.
There are still a few people missing in the community.

Phosa Loots Attorneys has been chosen by the families.
Residents of Jagersfontein are requesting the closure of the mine operation that caused the dam to collapse.

They also want the miner to help with community reconstruction.
Andries Nkome, a lawyer from Phosa Loots Attorneys, a law firm representing the Jagersfontein families spoke to ENCA and confirmed that they are indeed proceeding with a lawsuit.
“We have received instructions from the Kopanong Municipality simply because they have suffered damages because of the clogging of the sewage and water system, as well as the electricity infrastructure. “
“We have also received instructions on behalf of the respective families, those that have lost houses and properties. “
“We are in the process of getting further instructions on behalf of those who have lost people, those who ended up in a hospital, and those who lost their livestock. ” said Nkome,
