AKA opens up about his relationship with late fiancee Anele “Nellie” Tembe.
Speaking to the Sobering podcast this week, AKA revealed he wishes he could have spent more time with Nellie Tembe.
Anele fell to her death from the 10th floor of an upmarket hotel in Cape Town in 2021.
The rapper says he can’t speak on what everyone thinks happened as he was there and “knows what’s what.”
“It’s a tragedy that I have to live with for the rest of my life. I’m a fighter and I believe in God and He has got me.”
Addressing the viral images of him breaking down a door to get to Nellie, AKA says it’s a moment he’s not proud off, however, he never abused Anele.
“All you guys are seeing is a broken door and it doesn’t look good on me at all. I will take that and it’s not my finest moment.
“Our relationship was so explosive. It can be super great and also toxic. Sometimes you do things that you are not proud of.”
He continues: “I understand because the aftermath of it is a tragedy. There’s also camps, there’s media, there’s her side, there is family, there is police. I think when she took her own life, she kind of took a part of me aswell,” expresses AKA.
“I wanted to make this woman my life and now I have to live with it.
Touching on his relationship Nadia Nakai, he says she picked him up when he was at his lowest.
“But God is graceful because now I have an amazing woman in my life who picked me up and rebuild me.”
He hopes that both families find justice as he feels his life has been on hold.
“I don’t know why it has taken so long. Where is my justice? because in the meantime my life is lingering and where is the court of justice?
“It might be over in the court but there is a court of public opinion.”
