Kaya 959 board chairperson, Sizwe Mncwango, spoke to Kaya Breakfast to share an update on the investigation into allegations of financial mismanagement, sexual harassment and presiding over a toxic culture, levelled against former Managing Director, Greg Maloka.
Last week Friday, Maloka resigned with immediate effect.
“As any organisation, we rejected the accusations and allegations”, Mncwango told the Kaya Breakfast team. “But our conscience required us to further investigate.”
He also acknowledged that top management has been complacent in recent years about how business is conducted at the station.
According to Mncwango, Maloka was presented with all the preliminary findings of the independent investigation. He was presented with eight charges, which were backed by 407 pages of evidence. Additional evidence was requested by Maloka and over 300 pages of evidence were presented.
