Eskom claims to have recovered the R30 million that was fraudulently transferred to the Eskom Pension & Provident Fund for the benefit of the organization’s former Chief Executive Officer Brian Molefe.
The North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria upheld a 2016 early retirement arrangement between Molefe and Eskom in July after it had been reviewed and overturned.
According to the terms of the arrangement, Eskom contributed roughly R30 million to the pension fund to increase Molefe’s early retirement pension payout.
