Just a month within his first season in the English Premier League, Norwegian forward Erling Haaland, 22, has become every defender’s worst nightmare.
Off the back of an impressive hattrick that inspired Manchester City’s comeback against Crystal Palace over the weekend, Erling Haaland scored another hattrick within the first 38 minutes of their match against Nottingham Forest last night, inspiring his team to another victory.
Speaking to media at the end of their game last night, Haaland said scoring goals is a nice feeling.
“We did the same thing we did against palace in the second half. We knew they were going to be there and it was nice. I’m not complaining.”
Man City’s coach Pep Guardiola told BT Sport that goals don’t matter if the team is not winning.
“We had incredible focus and it was a really good game. I know he is happy scoring goals but I know what he wants is a win. I’m pretty sure he won’t like breaking records if we don’t win games. He is a special talent. We are delighted about what he has done.”
Haaland has now taken his tally for the season to 9 goals in 5 matches.
