Fast rising Amapiano sensation Uncle Waffles will be joining BBC 1 radio’s residency as a radio host and DJ.
BBC has announced the line-up for it’s residency slot for the next three months.
This residency slot will see two DJs, given an hour each, every Thursday for a month, giving us a taste of their respective journeys and influences.
This Thursday Uncle Waffles will be joined by Ahadadream. In October Helena Hauff and Eliza Rose will take over, and then November will be handled by Joseph Capriati and Skream.
“From chasing a dream to living a dream is the most surreal feeling, being given this new avenue to bring the sound to the world in a different way feels amazing. I’m so grateful for the opportunity on Radio 1, grateful that I get to give even more Amapiano acts a big platform for the world to hear”, Uncle Waffles said in a statement.
Not only is this an amazing opportunity for Uncle Waffles but this milestone is a huge shift for South African culture!
Congratulations to Uncle Waffles!
So proud to announce that I will be joining BBC RADIO 1’s residency as a host where I will be shedding the spot light on the genre that changed my life; AMAPIANO and some of its hottest songs to date!
