Many of us are doing our research and shopping for the greatest deals as fuel and food prices have significantly increased.
Every month, independent website The Outlier posts a pricing comparison of common supermarket items so that customers can make an informed decision.
They recently shocked many South Africans when they revealed that Woolworths is the cheapest place to shop for basic groceries.
They were selected from four big retailers: Checkers, Pick & Pay, SPAR, and Woolworths.

The publication explained that their basic grocery list included the following items:
One 700g Albany Superior Sliced White Bread (or store brand)
One store brand 2-litre sunflower oil
2.5kg IWISA maize meal
2.5kg Selati white sugar
One store brand two-litre milk
2kg Tastic rice
2.5kg Snowflake cake flour
One 175g Dettol Herbal Soap
18-pack of two-ply Baby Soft toilet paper
