In the past year, we’ve witnessed how Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi stood by King Misizulu even against his own family.
Not once did he turn his back on him.
This sparked the conversation on The Best T in the City about that one person in your life who is what Mangosuthu Buthelezi is to King Misizulu.
This is someone you can turn to no matter what. You know that you can always count on them.
It could be a colleague, church member, childhood friend, or a neighbour.
“So, who is your Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi? The one person who sticks by you even against your own family?” The Best T in the City with Tbose asks.
Phindile says it has to best her friend Sylvia.
“We’ve done it all, we’ve seen it all. We’ve been friends since our 20s, now we are in our mid-40s. She is still there for me and I know she would take a bullet for me. Even her partner knows that he comes second in her life – I love her.”
For Mbongeni it’s his friend Sphiwe.
“My partner and I are going through a rough patch but he is there for me. To an extent that he spoke to my partner to see if we can’t fix things. We’ve been friends for 22 years now. He also points it out when I’m in the wrong.”
