A Chinese female recently filed a lawsuit against a coworker, claiming that a too-tight hug caused her to break three of her ribs.
In May 2021, the plaintiff, a woman from Yueyang city in China’s Hunan region, was conversing with a coworker at work when this strange occurrence happened.
At one point, a male coworker reportedly approached her and gave her a hug, which is said to have made her scream in pain.
She reportedly felt discomfort in her chest even after leaving work since the man had gripped her so tightly, but she chose to go to bed rather than immediately seek medical attention.

According Odditycentra, a judge ruled that the man must provide his coworker 10,000 yuan (R 24 558,52) in damages after he unintentionally broke her ribs with an embrace.
The court ruled that despite the fact that the rib damage was discovered after 5 days, there was no proof that the woman engaged in any activity during those 5 days that may have resulted in the broken bones.
