Ndavi Nokeri was crowned as Miss South Africa 2022 at the Sun Arena at Times Square in Pretoria on Saturday evening.
Following the announcement of the new Miss SA 2022, the Miss South Africa organisation has revealed that it would now allow married women and mothers to participate and compete in the pageant.
This comes after the Miss Universe announced that it would be allowing married women and kids to compete.
70 years later and the Miss SA organisation said that it is striving to evolve with the times and noted that the latest decision was the natural next step.
Ndavi Nokeri has taken the reigns from Miss SA 2021, Lalela Mswane and has walked away with R1 million in cash, a sponsorship package valued at more than R3 million, including the use of a serviced apartment at the lavish Ellipse Waterfall for the year of her reign.
“As your Miss South Africa, I understand the importance of representation, because it is through seeing other women look beyond their fears and their circumstances, that I gained the courage to rise to the call. I will represent South Africa, in all its diversity, resilience and beauty. It really does take a village, and I am so grateful that my village showed up for me”, the 23-year-old shared during her acceptance speech.
