Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana star Hlompho Kekana announces his retirement from soccer.
37-year-old Hlompho Kekana announces his retirement from the beautiful game through a lengthy heartfelt letter.
Hlompho shares that as a kid growing up in Limpopo, it has always been his dream to play football.
He adds that this dream “led him to an incredible incredible career.”
The veteran says that along this journey there were people who played a significant role in him living out his dream.
Hlompho gives a special shoutout to his mother who played a significant role in his career.
Her sacrifices allowed me to chase my dream, the advice she continues to give, filled with wisdom, even if sometimes I was too young to fully understand the value.
Kekana hopes ‘his journey can inspire the next generation of footballers. ‘
Speaking about his future plans, he says he is enjoying his work at the SABC. “I am putting together my next set of dreams and seeing what opportunities arise,” he added.
