The hearing in the murder case of Elvis Nyathi was postponed on Thursday due to incomplete witness testimony, crime scene photos, and postmortem findings.
Dinesh Nandkisoor, the state prosecutor, requested that the case be continued until August 24 so that additional investigations may be conducted.
Nandkisoor informed the court that the director of public prosecutions’ decision on whether to transfer the case to the high court for trial was still pending.

Charges include murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, four counts of assault with the intent to cause great bodily harm, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and extortion against Cedrick Raseala, 41; Baron Mashele, 31; Godfrey Mahlo, 31; Thomas Serebane, 53; Phumudzo Tshirangwana, 38; Thabo Makgatho, 32; and Puleng Chipape, 34.
In a prior appearance, the seven were each given a R3,000 bail.
The remaining accusations are related to an alleged act of vigilantism in which the people of Diepsloot reportedly attacked Zimbabweans.
Nyathi was murdered in Diepsloot on April 7,
