A room-less hotel stay in Switzerland has raised eyebrows in Switzerland. The zero star hotel concept offers an anti-idyllic experience and, you guessed it, no privacy.
“Null Stern Hotel” is an artwork & performance by Swiss concept artists Frank & Patrik Riklin and hotelier Daniel Charbonnier.
A night in the room-less hotel will cost over R5, 500 or $340, depending where you want the location of your stay to be.
The name of the hotel is German for zero star, and while the set-up doesn’t offer the luxury you come to expect from hotels, it does give people stunning views.
According to the Riklins, the aim is to get people to think about life’s deep issues laying out in the cold and open air.
You do get a bed, have a butler waiting on you and the option of being served meals. There isn’t a bathroom in this room-less hotel stay but you get comfy hotel gowns and slippers to enjoy a night under the stars.
The team at the room-less hotel encourages guests to consider their stay an investment on their reflections and views of the world.
